Tamara Mitchell Ford...Again

Have you ever wanted to grab someone by the shoulders and shake them until they get somewhat of a clue? I feel that way about Tamara Mitchell Ford. I am almost embarassed to share her first name. Truthfully, I don't understand what all it is going to take for her to understand that she has a problem, and she needs to be in an inpatient facility until she gets her act together. Oh, she is in one...jail. I was shocked that her initial bail was only $100. Actually, I was amused that she was able to drive drunk without a license and have a car wreck involving three cars and refuse a breathalyzer test for less than what I spent buying video games the week before. However, I was pleased to see the increase to $50,000. I just want to know why in the blue hell would the judge even consider $100. That doesn't sit well with my soul. I decided to do some brief research on Tamara Mitchell Ford. A Yahoo search for her name yielded about 1,250,000 searches within 0.02 seconds. Excep

What Happened to Today's Woman?

I know that everyone makes mistakes, but when you live in a perpetual state of "oops, got to be more careful", then you haven't really learned anything. That applies to everyone. However, what I do know is that women have been losing their minds lately! There was a time when a woman would take care of herself, be active in Church (no matter the denomination), work (inside or outside the home), raise the children, cook, clean, keep the children looking neat, hang with her girls every now and then, keep her husband happy, and still manage not to fall apart, catch a school meeting. Oh, she would be tired, but she would turn around and do it again the next day. Then there are some women I knew personally that did all of that and then went to college, opened a business, or did all of that without a father or husband. There was a time that women really had it together..but in my opinion, we starting to slip. Now I am only 25 years old, so that means that there are things I'

When is Black Pride Too Strong?

I was sitting in my favorite thinking spot (bed) thinking about how many issues are floating around in the Black community. Here are some of the ones I thought of: *Crime *Unhealthy Relationships *Unhealthy Living *Lack of Proper Education *Lack of Respect for Each Other *Improperly Raised Children *Inability to Acheive and/or Maintain Wealth *Lack of Proper Focus I am certain that skeptics may say that those are not restricted to the Black race, and I will agree. However, I am only focusing on my Black people right now. I wish I had an answer to this problem, but seeing as I am not Jesus, I am not The Way. (While I consider myself to be rather cool, I am not nearly as cool as Jesus. He fed a lot of people with one loaf of bread while I am still trying to find out how ten pounds of hot wings NEVER seems to feed six friends). In the end, I will say that there is a common bond that can help solve some of the issues I have named and the others I have missed--we won't reach out fo
